Toby Bannan

Toby Bannan was born in Dublin, Ireland, and started playing the trombone at the age of 12. After playing with the national youth brass band of Great Britain, Toby went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutorage of Leslie storey and Christopher Houlding. Whilst at the RNCM, Toby was invited to join the Foden Band, where he spent three years before joining the Grimethorpe Colliery Band. In March 2003, Toby accepted an invitation to join the Yorkshire Building Society Band (YBS).

Toby has played in winning performances at the European Championships, the National Finals, the British Open and Brass in Concert Brass Band Competitions. Other performances with brass bands have included tours of Europe and Australia, numerous radio broadcasts and compact disc recordings. Toby has also been recorded as a soloist with YBS.

As well as performing with brass bands, Toby also performs with orchestras and ensembles such as the Halle Orchestra, Manchester, 'Apitos' and the 'Remix Ensemble'.

Toby is currently studying for a degree at Salford University, under the guidance of Paul Milner.
